Henshaws supports my family
Sharlene and Chloe
My daughter Chloe is 9 and she has septo-optic dysplasia, so the only sight she has is light perception. We’ve been coming to Henshaws for 4 years. Chloe loves the days out. Trips are great for us as it can be hard going out just the two of us. It’s too expensive for us to go on trips alone. Meeting other families is great too, for me and for Chloe.
Mike and Hannah
I’m a visually impaired single parent. My daughter Hannah is 12. The visually impaired parents group really helps me. We talk about issues like shopping for Hannah’s clothes and school parent evenings where nothing is provided in large print or braille! It’s good to meet people who understand where you’re coming from. At Henshaws I know there will always be people there to support us.
Tina and Tom
Henshaws is brilliant. We come here at least once a week. Tom loves the Story Sack sessions, the light room and he is very musical. He’s full of energy all the time and loves doing somersaults and climbing around – so the soft play area is perfect! We meet other families and get ideas from Henshaws staff about activities we’ve never thought of before. It’s a real family place.
