Payroll giving and tax rebates
Payroll giving
Payroll giving is a simple, tax-effective way to give to Henshaws. Setting up a scheme is easy. Employees authorise their payroll department to deduct their donation from their pay packet.
Deductions are made before tax, so employees get tax relief - so if they donate £10, it will only cost them £7.80 or £6 for higher rate tax payers.
Employers can encourage the scheme too by matching donations. A payroll giving agency will administer the scheme for you.
Tax rebate
If you complete a Self Assessment tax form then from the 2008/2009 tax year (forms issued in April 2004) you will be able to donate any tax rebate due to you to Henshaws!
If you are owed tax back from the Inland Revenue, all you need to do is nominate Henshaws Society for Blind People to receive your donation, along with our Inland Revenue code X12966.
