UK Vision Strategy

UK Vision Strategy logoThe UK Vision Strategy was set up to develop a united plan of action on all issues of sight loss and eye health across the UK.

It’s part of the World Health Assembly VISION 2020 objective to reduce avoidable blindness and improve the quality of services for visually impaired people by the year 2020.

Including ourselves, over 650 organisations and individuals have developed the strategy - the first time that so many have united to set a firm direction for eye health and sight loss services.

The aims are simple:

  • To improve the eye health of people living in the UK
  • To eliminate avoidable sight loss and deliver excellent support to people with sight loss
  • Enhance the inclusion, participation and independence of blind and partially sighted people

We are committed to acting on this by following the agreed plans below.
